West Virginia at the Battle of Gettysburg

The State of West Virginia sent over 32,000 men to the Union Army during the Civil War. It was less than two weeks old at the time of the Battle of Gettysburg, but it was represented there by two cavalry and one infantry regiments and a battery of artillery, almost 790 men.
