14th Vermont Infantry Regiment

The monument to the 14th Vermont Infantry Regiment is south of Gettysburg on Hancock Avenue. (see map) It was dedicated in 1899 by the State of Vermont.

The 14th Vermont was commanded at the Battle of Gettysburg by Colonel William T. Nicholls and brought 647 men to the field. It was part of the 1st Corps, 3rd Division,3rd Brigade.
