Stone Sentinels, battlefield monuments of the American Civil War

Reynolds Avenue South

Reynolds Avenue is west of Gettysburg. It starts at Hagerstown Road and runs north (one way) before reaching Chambersburg Pike. Here on July 1st the men of Buford's Union cavalry were relieved by Reynolds's Infantry, with Reynolds falling at the edge of the woods that now bears his name.

At US 30 you can continue north on the northern half of Reynolds Avenue, eventually reaching Buford Avenue or Doubleday Avenue. Or you can turn left (west) on US 30 to reach the start of Stone and Meredith Avenues, which returns as a one way street to Reynolds Avenue.

Another option is to head east on US 30, then turn south on Seminary Avenue which eventually becomes Confederate Avenue, heading to the south part of the battlefield.
