East Confedarate Avenue starts on the southeast side of Gettysburg at the corner of East Middle Straet and Liberty. It heads southeast out of town and loops around the base of Culp's Hill, the starting point for the Confederate attackes on July 2nd. It ends at Spanglers Spring, where you must turn back north over the Union lines on Culp's Hill.

East Confederate Avenue is one of the less visited parts of the battlefield, and its wooded stretches with plenty of parking is a good place to escape the crowds on a hot and busy day.
