Rhode Island at Gettysburg

Rhode Island was represented at Gettysburg by almost 1,000 men in an infantry regiment and five artillery batteries. Batteries C and G of the 1st Rhode Island Artillery were in reserve with the Sixth Corps and did not erect monuments on the battlefield. Almost 100 of these men became casualties.
