49th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment

The monument to the 49th Pennsylvaia Infantry Regiment is south of Gettysburg on Howe Avenue.

The 49th Pennsylvania was commanded at the Battle of Gettysburg by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas M. Huings. It brought 318 men to the field in four companies (A-D), suffering no casualties.
