20-pounder Parrott Rifles of the 5th New York Artillery outside Evergreen Cemetery at Gettysburg

Looking southeast down the Baltimore Pike from near the Evergreen Cemetery Gatehouse on Cemetery Hill. These 20-pounder rifles (the weight refers to the size of the projectile) were the largest artillery pieces on the field. On July 2nd they dueled with four identical Confederate guns of Virginia's Rockbridge Artillery on Benner's Hill.
