11th New York Independent Battery
"Havelock Battery"

The monument to the 11th New York Independent Battery is south of Gettysburg on Hancock Avenue.
(see map) It was erected in 1893 by the State of New York.

The battery was temporarily atteched to Battery K of the New York Light Artillery and was commanded at the Battle of Gettysburg by its Captain Robert H. Fitzhugh.
