Maryland at the Battle of Gettysburg

Maryland provided over 42,000 men to the Union in the Civil War. It was represented for the Union at the Battle of Gettysburg by three infantry regiments, a cavalry regiment, an independent cavalry company, and an artillery battery. Maryland was a slave state and was also provided several Confederate units.
