37th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment

The monument to the 37th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment is south of Gettysburg on Sedgwick Avenue. (see map) It was dedicated in 1886 by the State of Massachusetts.

The 37th Massachusetts was commanded at the Battle of Gettysburg by Colonel Oliver Edwards. It brought 593 men to the field, losing two killed, 26 wounded and 19 missing.
