Monuments to a person

Captain Jedediah Champan,
27th Connecticut Infantry Regiment

The monument to Captain Jed. Chapman is is south of Gettysburg along the north side of DeTrobriand Road on the south edge of the Wheatfield. Captain Chapman was killed leading a company in the regiment's charge across The Wheatfield on July 2.
